As a Recreation Leader you will be primarily leading summer day camps at Genesis Place and Inspire, however, there may be opportunity to lead school year camps, children’s programming and childcare throughout the rest of the year.
Responsibilities Include:
• Lead quality preschool and children’s programs (including recreational programs and day camps) for children 4 – 12 years of age
• Plan and implement a variety of activities including arts and crafts, dance, games, sports and music
• Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for the children
• Uphold rules and guidelines within the facility
• Provide customer service to parents, children and public
• Preferred applicants should be a min 16 years of age
• Previous experience working with children is required
• Prior experience as a Leader, or volunteering at Genesis Place would be an asset
• Current or able to obtain before July 3, 2026, Intermediate First Aid - Level C CPR and AED Certification (provide copy of certification with application if you hold a current certification)

Hours will vary by season based on program registration. This is a casual, term position running from June to August, with the possibility of extension.
Candidates must be available for training during the week of June 28 to July 3 (July 1 not required) and must be able to commit to up to six full weeks of work in July and August. Availability will be discussed and confirmed at the time of interview.
Successful candidates who demonstrate the required experience, skills, and overall fit may be considered for additional hours as a Child Care Leader.
