JOB SUMMARY
You are responsible for the overall leadership, management and operational delivery of the City’s Acquisition and Valuation programs, providing expert real estate advice and program oversight to support innovative property solutions that advance the City of Ottawa’s strategic, fiscal and community sustainability objectives.
You exercise delegated authority for the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex real estate acquisition and valuation activities, ensuring that corporate realty interests are protected, optimized, and aligned with Council-approved priorities, capital programs, and legislative requirements.

You are also responsible for the management of the unit’s human, financial, and contractual resources, as well as the development and maintenance of effective partner relationships.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of a four (4) year university degree in Real Estate, Business, Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, Law or another field related to real estate.
A minimum of six (6) years of demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of professional and technical real estate services, including a minimum of four (4) years of experience managing human resources, operating budgets, and external professional and technical consultants.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES
Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation from Appraisal Institute of Canada is desirableKNOWLEDGE
