Job description: Swamper Job Description: The company is seeking hardworking, experienced Hydrovac Swampers to support our project work in western Canada. The ideal candidate has previous hydrovac swamping experience, valid drivers' licence and must be accountable, reliable, and adaptable to all working conditions. Safety. No Excuses. is our most important core value, the successful candidate(s) must embody our Health, Safety and Environment Program by participating, implementing and holding yourself and others accountable to all elements of the Program. Successful candidate(s) will participate in safety meetings, hazard assessment (JHA, FLHAetc.). Responsibilities: Working cooperatively and safely under the guidance of a qualified operator to support safe Hydovac/Airvac operations Obey all posted speed limits and reduce speed according to road, weather, visibility conditions while operating a vehicle or equipment. Prepare truck with materials and equipment for use the following day. Maintain clean work site area and perform routine equipment maintenance as per specifications. Assist with general labour tasks, such as spotting, collections of materials/supplies Ensuring proper load securement for hoses or any other equipment as necessary. Assisting with swamping, staging, & spotting of units Assisting with performing pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights, turning signals, brakes and monitor vehicle performance. Complete daily vehicle inspection, maintenance and repair reports, accident or incident reports. Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles including greasing and washing truck On a daily basis complete LEMs electronically through company provided Tablets Submit expense statements and fuel card usage that include associated receipts in accordance with expense reimbursement procedures and the Fuel Card Policy. Represent the company, it's clients and all stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner Other responsibilities to support the success of the company and it's operations. Qualifications and Experience: Must have a valid drivers' licence for the appropriate vehicle you operate and ensure you are in compliance with all local laws and regulations. Must have the sufficient mechanical ability to troubleshoot and make minor repairs to equipment and vehicle is ideal. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Capable of working independently and demonstrates a high level of professionalism. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Demonstrated commitment to being a safety leader Drug and Alcohol testing as requires. Safety Requirements: Basic PPE to be supplied by the worker are boots, hi-visibility vest, hardhat and glasses. Infracon will provide any specialized PPE. Drug and Alcohol testing, as required Required Safety Certifications: Fall Protection, Ground Disturbance and H2S Alive Safety certifications such as First Aid, CSTS and Confined Space are considered an asset Work Environment & Physical Demands: The Hydrovac / Airvac Operator works outdoors a majority of time and conditions may include very cold or hot temperatures, wind, flying dust, and uneven ground. The position requires frequent standing, walking, twisting, bending, reaching and kneeling. Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights. .
