Position Summary:

Responsible for operating a gas or electric forklift in and between departments, buildings, and grounds. Collects and delivers a wide variety of materials, adhering to good safety practices in carrying out duties. Delivers materials to work areas as directed, stacks materials in storage areas and loads shipments in trailers.

Essential Functions:

• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.

• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive trucks and control movement of lifting apparatus.

• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting devices. Load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids or lifting devices.

• Inventory materials on the work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

• Must have the ability to work independently or within a team environment.

• Regular use of material handling equipment in a fast-paced warehouse setting

• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.

• Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and follow-through on given tasks.

• Must have the ability to be certified on all necessary equipment.

• Must have excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.

• Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and be able to work independently and within a team environment.

• Must have exceptional problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access Database) and Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).

• Ability to perform duties in all environments (Grocery/Cooler/Freezer) required.
