Job Title: HVAC Filter Technician
Location: Kamloops, BC
Base Rate: $35.00 per hour
OT: 1.5x after 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week
Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, 11-hour days. Day shift.

We are seeking a Kamloops-based local employee, ideally a first or second-year electrical apprentice. The job duties will include supporting the electrical department by changing filters in underground electrical substations and performing HVAC maintenance on both the surface and underground. If we find the right fit, it could easily potentially lead to an electrical apprentice opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supporting the electrical department with changing filters in the electrical sub-stations underground
• HVAC maintenance on surface and underground
• Safely perform general labourer duties using hand tools while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
• Assist skilled trades workers with equipment and task preparation.
• Conduct general cleanup to maintain a safe and efficient worksite.
• Collaborate with team members and assist with various tasks as required.
• Wash equipment to ensure vehicles and machinery are clean and maintained.
• Complete proper lockout procedures while working with machinery.
• Complete assigned duties as instructed by the site superintendent or supervisor.

Requirements:

• Industrial electrical or site type experience.
• Be a self-starter and have a safety-conscious mindset.
• Previous experience in mining, oil and gas, or construction environments is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment is considered an asset.
• Comfortably operating skid steers, forklifts, and telehandlers is considered an asset.
• Mechanically inclined is preferred.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors.
• Strong oral and written English communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to maintain orderly workspaces.
• Commitment to following all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Willingness to work overtime if it falls on your rotation.

All Successful Candidates Must:

• Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Provide a clean driver’s abstract.
• Be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Be able to pass a background check.
• Adhere to the company's and site's drug and alcohol policies.
• Maintain fitness for duty at all times in this safety-sensitive role.
• Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
