As a Utility Operator, you'll play an important role in our facility operations. You will be partially responsible for the operation of bagging and toting lines and the loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing loads. You will also be responsible for maintaining maintenance shop operations and parts area(s). This position will work closely with other operators to assist in equipment cleanouts, changeovers, warehouse and yard cleaning and general maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operation of tote and bag filling systems
- Operation of inventory system to label toted and bagged products with lot numbers, weights and product ID
- Loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing products
- Assist in Plant clean-up, product changeovers, general maintenance
- Maintain continuous preventative maintenance programs and checklists
- Must maintain the maintenance shop operation and parts area(s) in a clean and food safe environment
- Assist in planning and installation of plant improvements, capital projects as necessary
- Coordinate any ordering and sourcing parts for machinery and equipment as required
- Participate in all audits that relate to food safety and the use of GMP's
- Operate various types of powered mobile equipment and attachments/implements
- Complete daily documentation and reporting
- Support sanitation efforts and follow all food safety guidelines
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
- Must have proven organizational and decision-making skills
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset
- Must have good math and analytical skills
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate level
- Strong computer skills (word, excel, data entry, etc.)
- Must be a self-motivated team-player with the ability to multi-task and manage priorities
- Must have the ability to perform physical tasks repetitively such as climbing ladders/stairs and lift 50lbs
- Must be comfortable in working with heights.
- Must be able to work in a grain processing environment which exposes staff to allergens such as, but not limited to, grain and grain dust.
A typical work week is Monday – Friday, 8hr/day. Demands of the business may require shift work including weekends.
