Some FP&A roles ask you to maintain what's already there. This one asks you to build what doesn't exist yet.
This is a newly created seat at a fast-growing, PE-backed construction company where the finance function is being built by people who actually care about doing it right. The Finance Manager who joined 11 months ago is already on track for Director. The CFO is engaged and visible. Leadership wants real financial intelligence and is investing in the people who can deliver it.
That's where you come in.
What the role looks like
You'll own monthly forecasting across revenue, margins, EBITDA, and cash flow. You'll lead the annual budget process, build the management reporting package, and present financial results to senior leadership and PE stakeholders at the board level. You'll develop project-level profitability models, track KPIs across backlog, pipeline, working capital, and cash conversion, and work directly with project managers on job costing, change orders, and revenue recognition. M&A support is also part of the picture as the platform continues to grow.
The tools and dashboards you build here will be used by operations and sales leaders who currently don't have that visibility. You'll see the direct impact of your work.
The growth story is real
The Finance Manager above you went from hire to Director-track in under a year. The expectation for this role is Manager within the same time frame. This is a platform that rewards performance and promotes from within.
Why this is a great opportunity
- You're building, not inheriting. This is a newly created role at a company that finally wants real financial infrastructure. The dashboards, models, and reporting frameworks you build here will be yours from day one -- and leadership will actually use them.
- The growth trajectory is legitimate. The Finance Manager above you went from hire to Director-track in under a year. This is a PE-backed platform that moves fast and rewards performance. Manager within two years is a realistic expectation, not a recruiting line.
- High visibility from the start. You're not buried three levels deep. You're reporting to someone with direct CFO access, preparing board packages for PE stakeholders, and partnering with operations leaders on decisions that affect the business in real time. Your work will be seen.
What You'll Do
- Own the monthly forecasting cycle across revenue, margins, overhead, EBITDA, and cash flow
- Lead the annual budget from the ground up, including detailed model builds, consolidation, and scenario analysis
- Dig into monthly results, explain the story behind the numbers, and deliver sharp reporting to senior leadership and the board
- Build project-level profitability models and dashboards that give operations leaders visibility they don't have today
- Track and interpret the KPIs that actually drive the business: labor productivity, margin performance, backlog, pipeline, working capital, and cash conversion
- Sit alongside project managers on job costing, change orders, margin analysis, and revenue recognition
- Support M&A work including financial analysis, due diligence, and integration planning as the platform grows
- Spot process gaps, drive reporting automation, and strengthen the controls around how financial information flows through the business
