Results-driven opportunity within the insurance industry for a senior-level professional specializing in mortgage and lending technology. This role focuses on translating complex business needs into scalable solutions, driving digital transformation, and enhancing end-to-end lending processes in a regulated environment.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $64-67 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $75-79 per hour.
• 9-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• 2 days on-site per week.
• Based in Toronto or Waterloo.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and document end-to-end mortgage and lending processes, including application intake, underwriting, decisioning, fulfillment, funding, and servicing interactions.
• Translate lending policies, credit rules, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements into clear and actionable requirements.
• Identify inefficiencies, manual handoffs, and process gaps, and recommend technology-driven improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, operations, risk, compliance, and technology to align solutions with strategic objectives.
• Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and requirement reviews with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Act as a liaison between business teams, technology teams, and external partners to ensure alignment and clarity.
• Elicit, define, and manage functional and non-functional requirements across integrated systems and workflows.
• Break down business needs into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria suitable for agile delivery.
• Support solution design by working closely with architects and engineers to ensure feasibility and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Maintain traceability between business objectives and delivered solutions.
• Contribute to backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing requirement updates.
• Partner with QA teams to ensure requirements are testable and accurately reflected in test scenarios.
• Support defect triage and resolution by clarifying expected outcomes.
• Ensure readiness for implementation, including training, operational processes, and change management.
• Maintain high-quality documentation aligned with regulatory and audit standards.
• Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Provide clear and concise updates to stakeholders and leadership.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in business analysis or business systems analysis within complex technology environments.
• Strong experience in mortgage, lending, credit, or related financial services domains.
• Deep understanding of mortgage origination and lending lifecycles, including underwriting, funding, and servicing.
• Experience working in regulated environments with risk, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Ability to translate regulatory and business requirements into system capabilities.
• Solid knowledge of systems analysis, application integration, APIs, and non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and security.
• Technical acumen with the ability to engage effectively with engineering teams and understand system behavior.
• Proven ability to analyze complex systems and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery models across multiple workstreams.
• Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
• Comfort working in ambiguous and evolving environments.
• Experience collaborating with QA and development teams throughout delivery cycles.
• Knowledge of data reporting and analytical tools is an asset.
• Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, or debugging concepts is considered an advantage.
