What’s the Job?
The Lead Panel Manufacturing Support Engineer / Specialist serves as the technical interface between engineering design and manufacturing for protection, SCADA, and telecom panels. This role ensures panel designs are accurate, manufacturable, compliant, and standardized prior to release to production, and coordinates closely with enclosure (metal) suppliers .

Pay-$41.89/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve complete panel design packages (enclosures, layouts, schematics, wiring, wire lists)
- Ensure compliance with CSA, UL, CE, customer, and utility standards
- Validate panel layouts for fit, clearances, segregation, accessibility, and safety
- Coordinate enclosure drilling patterns and mechanical interfaces with metal suppliers
- Review enclosure drawings and DXF files for accuracy and IP/NEMA compliance
- Support manufacturing by clarifying design intent and resolving shop-floor issues
- Promote standardization and DFM/DFT improvements
- Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning readiness
Qualifications
- Experience in Protection & Control panel manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of panel layout, wiring, and enclosure design
- Experience with metal fabrication and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with utility documentation and work practices
- Working knowledge of CSA, UL, and CE requirements
- Experience with SCADA, substation automation, telecom, or metering preferred
- Lean / Six Sigma certification and P.Eng are assets
