We’re looking for a Maintenance Superintendent to join our largest sawmill, located in High Level, Alberta. Our High Level Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- University degree/technical diploma or a Journeyperson trades certification or extensive experience in a relevant field.
- Experience leading maintenance teams within manufacturing, ideally in sawmilling.
- Experience with maintenance planning, condition monitoring, shutdown execution and implementing reliability programs.
- Demonstrated commitment to work safely.
- Experience with project management, including capital projects.
- A sound knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes.
- Proven ability to manage change, engage staff and drive operational excellence.
- Knowledge of equipment operation, strong maintenance skills and analytical skills.
- A good understanding of the operations of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

In this role you will:
- Manage the safe, reliable, and cost‑effective maintenance of mill equipment and facilities.
- Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution, including planned shutdowns and major repairs.
- Lead and promote a strong safety‑first culture, ensuring all maintenance work complies with provincial OH&S legislation and company standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and downtime, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure effective use of the CMMS for work orders, asset history, preventive maintenance, and parts tracking.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance operating and capital budgets, balancing cost control with reliability.
- Track and report key maintenance performance indicators, including uptime, PM compliance, and maintenance costs.
- Coordinate and manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
