Job Title: Proposal builder
Location: Toronto, ON or Remote
What You Will Do:
- Own the end-to-end preparation of RFP and RFI responses, coordinating inputs from engineering, product, and commercial teams to meet submission deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Develop and maintain a library of pre-approved technical content, standard responses, and reusable proposal modules to accelerate turnaround.
- Track active RFPs in the CRM, flag conflicts or resourcing constraints early, and manage the review and approval process internally.
System Sizing & LCOH Modelling:
- Perform system sizing calculations for customer-specific applications - input power profile, required hydrogen output, pressure requirements, integration constraints - using NXH's platforms.
- Operate and continuously refine the LCOH (levelized cost of hydrogen) model, incorporating customer-specific electricity rates, stack replacement schedules, O&M assumptions, and applicable incentives (e.g., Clean Hydrogen ITC, IRA 45V).
- Translate modelling outputs into clear, customer-ready financial summaries that make the economic case for NXH systems versus competing alternatives.
Technical Datasheets & Specifications:
- Maintain and update product datasheets, technical specifications, and application notes for the NH-150 and NH-500 platforms as the product evolves through validation and commercial rollout.
- Develop application-specific technical briefs (e.g., ammonia synthesis integration with Casale, tritium extraction with CNL/FFC, behind-the-meter industrial hydrogen) that connect product specs to customer use cases.
- Ensure all technical content is accurate, current, and approved - acting as the gatekeeper between engineering outputs and customer-facing materials.
Customer-Facing Proposal Decks:
- Build high-quality, tailored proposal presentations for priority accounts and partner-driven opportunities, incorporating system performance data, project economics, reference deployments, and NXH's competitive differentiation.
- Work with the Commercial Director and CEO to align proposal narrative with the specific decision criteria and stakeholder map of each customer.
- Develop a standard proposal template library that can be customized efficiently without starting from scratch for each opportunity.
Inside Sales Support:
- Support the commercial team in qualifying inbound leads - responding to technical questions, preparing preliminary sizing assessments, and identifying fit before handing off to senior BD.
- Maintain CRM records for all active proposals: stage, submission date, decision timeline, key contacts, and follow-up actions.
- Coordinate with the Technical Product team on any proposal commitments that require engineering validation or scope clarification.
Required:
- 5 10 years of experience in a technical sales engineering, inside sales, or proposals role within capital equipment, industrial technology, clean energy, or a related sector.
- Strong engineering foundation: degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering, or equivalent demonstrated technical competency.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality technical proposals and customer-facing documentation under deadline pressure.
- Hands-on experience with system sizing, techno-economic modelling, or similar quantitative analytical work.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent proposals at different stages.
- Strong written communication skills - able to translate complex technical content into clear, persuasive customer language
