Job description

Position Summary

:

This course helps prepare students for the role of HR data scientist or individual wanting to become more sophisticated in terms of their people analytics. Students learn which analyses are appropriate for various kinds of HR-related data-driven questions. The types of analyses to which students may be exposed include but are not limited to: a brief introduction to psychometric theory; how to build predictive models of employee turnover and job performance; statistical methods for validation of HR assessment measures; estimation of adverse impact; utility analysis; meta-analytic methods specific to HR; how to analyze and interpret employee engagement data; multi-level analysis of organizational data; methods to investigate pay equity; methods to effectively visualize/communicate complex organizational data to decision-makers.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively teach students how to apply analytical methods to HR data in order to generate insights and support evidence-based decision-making in organizations.

Qualifications – Required: Masters degree in Business or related discipline (e.g., Industrial/Organizational psychology) with substantial evidence of advanced analytics expertise; PhD in a relevant field is considered an asset

Qualifications – Discipline: Human resource management, organizational behaviour, or a related discipline with a clear focus on workplace behavior and/or HR practices

Qualifications - Areas of Specialization: Strong foundation in quantitative methods; demonstrated expertise in HR analytics, people analytics, workforce analytics, or a related area

Qualifications - Professional Designation: CHRP or CHRL would be considered an asset

Qualifications – Other: University teaching experience would be considered an asset
