As a Technical Claims Consultant, you will play a key role in elevating claims practices by providing technical expertise, training, and strategic insights. You will collaborate closely with Claims Supervisors and leadership to ensure excellence in claims handling, compliance, and client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical consulting and coaching to Claims Supervisors, supporting sound decision-making across claims, litigation management, policy interpretation, and settlements
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert, contributing to the development and delivery of training programs and technical resources
- Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and support action planning with leadership
- Monitor claims handling practices through audits and provide insights on trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes
- Assist in resolving complex technical issues and client escalations
- Support the implementation and execution of operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance client engagement, operational effectiveness, and team performance

Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of Accident Benefits or discipline-specific claims experience within the insurance industry
- Post-secondary education
- Completion of or progress toward CIP or FCIP designation
- Advanced knowledge of policy wording, legislation, and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience leveraging data and metrics to drive decisions
