Verafin - Data Science Specialist - Financial Crime Insights

As a Data Science Specialist reporting to the Head of Product Marketing,you'llplay a meaningful role in transforming proprietary financial crime data into strategic insights thatdemonstratethe value of NasdaqVerafin'sfraud detection and anti-money laundering solutions.

You'llthrive in this position ifyou'reanalytical, strategic, and passionate about using data to fight financial crime while enabling business growth in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze client deployment data to quantify solution ROI, measuring fraud losses prevented, efficiency gains, and investigation time saved.

• Leverage consortium data from 2,700+ financial institutions to produce industry benchmark reports and peer performance comparisons.

• Partner with sales and marketing teams to create data-driven customer success stories, case studies, and presentation materials thatdemonstrateproduct effectiveness.

• Monitor aggregated data toidentifyemerging fraud trends and money laundering patterns, translating findings into thought leadership content.

• Present analytical insights to customers and stakeholders in executive briefings, quarterly business reviews, and industry conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's orMaster's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles, ideally in fraud detection, AML, banking, or fintech.

• Strongproficiencyin SQL and Python (or R) for data analysis and visualization.

• Excellent communication skills with proven ability to translate complex findings into compelling narratives for non-technical audiences.

• Collaborative mindset with experience working across marketing, sales, and product teams in a matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of financial crime concepts, fraud detection methodologies, and AML compliance.

• Experience withbig-dataframeworks (e.g., Spark) and cloud platforms (AWS).

• Background in creating executive-level reports, white papers, or thought leadership content.
