Your New RoleAs amercial Project Manager, you will play a central role in supporting themercial, financial, and program management aspects of multiple architectural projects. Working closely with Architectural Project Leads and Principals, you will ensure that each project is delivered efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with contract obligations. You will coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and client representatives, overseeing processes such as change control, fee management, resource planning, and program development. Your work will contribute directly to project performance, teammunication, and the overall success of the practice’s portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Project Leads in managingmercial performance across active projects.
- Maintaining contract documentation, trackingmunications, and ensuring insurancepliance.
- Managing change control procedures and additional services workflows with internal teams and clients.
- Preparing fee proposals, tracking costs, managing invoices, and supporting financial reporting.
- Monitoring resource allocation and utilization.
- Developing and coordinating design programs with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensuring accurate project records and adherence to QA/QC protocols.
- Participating in meetings, preparing minutes, and driving action follow-up.
- Facilitating smooth collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Need to SucceedTo excel in this role, you will bring strongmercial acumen, excellent organizational skills, and experience working within architectural or construction environments. This job is based in downtown Toronto and requires you to be in the office every day during probation. The firm offers the option for flexible work from home days after probation.
Qualifications
- Architectural training or substantial experience within large architectural practices or the construction industry.
- 4+ years of project coordination/management within an architecture or construction organization.
- Financial management skills, including fee proposals, cost tracking, and invoice oversight.
- Hands-on experience with change control and additional services management.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam, Autodesk ACC, and programming tools such as Asta Powerproject (or equivalents).
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate between multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong meeting coordination and minute‑taking capabilities.
- Professional certifications such as PMI/PMP are an asset but not mandatory.
