Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description
Join a dedicated team as a Project Engineer, where you will execute a variety of civil engineering assignments with a focus on site development, grading, stormwater management, and municipal servicing. Apply your sound engineering judgment to tackle complex design and field challenges, using both standard and innovative approaches. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery and contribute to the holistic success of civil engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Interpret client requirements and coordinate work schedules to ensure project alignment and compliance.
- Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, tender documents, and progress reports.
- Participate in project planning and scheduling to meet budget, timeline, and performance objectives.
- Conduct site visits and field reviews to monitor construction progress and resolve issues.
- Consult with suppliers and approval agencies to secure appropriate procedures and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.
- Maintain awareness of related architectural and engineering disciplines to support holistic project outcomes.
- Refer complex or unusual problems to engineers or specialists as needed.
- Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or team members.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to company values of quality, client focus, teamwork, sustainability, and community.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of municipal design standards, construction practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret client requirements and coordinate work schedules accordingly.
- Experience in project management, stormwater design, and wastewater engineering.
- Proficiency in preparing progress reports and cost estimates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in creating and redlining design drawings.
- Experience working with municipal projects.
- Experience at a consulting company.
- Experience working with wastewater projects.
Work Environment
The role requires a minimum of three days a week in the office located in Kitchener. You will be part of a close-knit team of 5-9 people, working collaboratively and participating in various team events throughout the year. This environment fosters teamwork and creativity, encouraging you to challenge the ordinary and redefine what's possible.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Kitchener, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
