The success of our educational activities hinges on collaboration with leading medical experts to develop content that drives physician behavior to the audience most interested and most in need of the education. AiCME educational activities are available in a number of formats, including audio, video, and live/virtual events.

Overall Objective

A dynamic and highly capable Director, Educational Development will work closely with the Senior Director, Educational Development to build and expand a highly successful business and focus clearly on the needs of clients. The ultimate objective is to deliver against sales targets and contribute to the year‑on‑year growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business development through direct sales to a diversified client base, including the following:
  • Achieve sales of circa CAD$ 750,000 by the end of Yr1 through selling existing AiCME services to Canadian pharmaceutical personnel.
  • Achieve sales of circa CAD $1,500,000 by the end of Yr2.
  • Work closely with the AiCME team to ensure effective coverage of key therapy areas.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of accounts for the Business Unit (BU) that ensures no individual client account represents >15% of the BU's overall business.
  • To deliver compelling proposals and presentations for assigned accounts in terms of maximizing revenue potential to ensure that new business opportunities are created and profitable working relationships are established.
  • Continuously scan the market environment to detect signals that represent potential business opportunities.
  • To work collegiately with other members of your immediate Business Unit and more widely across the Business Group to maximise opportunities with accounts.
  • Conform with the Business Unit and Groups policies and processes in relation to documenting accounts, this includes, but is not limited to, regular updates to the sales forecast and pipeline management tool.

Skills/Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to work independently as well as part of a team and will be comfortable in a high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment.

  • An ability to develop strong client relationships, whilst demonstrating good business acumen. Although there is an excellent base to start from, an entrepreneurial spirit is required to ensure we can develop our thinking, approach and strategy as we face the realities of a dynamic and changing marketplace.
  • Candidates are expected to possess the drive to succeed and be driven and motivated by challenging, but achievable, targets.
  • Ideally candidates will have a good understanding of the Canadian Certified Medical Education environment and be familiar with accreditation processes and requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to evidence a successful career to date (minimum of three years' experience) of meeting targets for medical education or related business environments.

Objectif général

Un(e) directeur(trice) du développement éducatif dynamique et hautement compétent(e) travaillera en étroite collaboration avec le(la) directeur(trice) principal(e) du développement éducatif afin de bâtir et de faire croître une entreprise hautement performante, tout en répondant clairement aux besoins des clients. L'objectif ultime est d'atteindre les cibles de vente et de contribuer à la croissance annuelle de l'entreprise.

Responsabilités clés

  • Développement des affaires par des ventes directes auprès d'une clientèle diversifiée, incluant notamment les responsabilités suivantes :
  • Atteindre des ventes d'environ 750 000 $ CAD d'ici la fin de la première année, par la vente des services existants d'AiCME auprès des professionnels pharmaceutiques canadiens.
  • Atteindre des ventes d'environ 1 500 000 $ CAD d'ici la fin de la deuxième année.
  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec l'équipe d'AiCME afin d'assurer une couverture efficace des principaux domaines thérapeutiques.
  • Développer et maintenir un portefeuille de comptes pour l'unité d'affaires (UA) en veillant à ce qu'aucun client ne représente plus de 15 % de l'activité globale de l'UA.
  • Élaborer et présenter des propositions et des présentations convaincantes pour les comptes assignés, dans une optique de maximisation du potentiel de revenus, afin de créer de nouvelles occasions d'affaires et d'établir des relations de travail rentables et durables.
  • Surveiller en continu l'environnement du marché afin de détecter les signaux représentant des occasions d'affaires potentielles.
  • Collaborer de manière collégiale avec les autres membres de l'unité d'affaires immédiate, ainsi qu'avec l'ensemble du groupe, afin de maximiser les occasions auprès des clients.
  • Se conformer aux politiques et processus de l'unité d'affaires et du groupe en matière de documentation des comptes, notamment par la mise à jour régulière des prévisions de ventes et des outils de gestion du pipeline.

Compétences et qualifications

Le(la) candidat(e) idéal(e) sera hautement motivé(e), capable de travailler de façon autonome tout en s'intégrant efficacement à une équipe, et à l'aise dans un environnement à volume élevé et axé sur le respect des échéanciers.

  • Capacité à établir des relations solides avec les clients tout en démontrant un bon sens des affaires.
  • Bien qu'une base solide soit déjà en place, un esprit entrepreneurial est requis afin de faire évoluer notre réflexion, notre approche et notre stratégie dans un marché dynamique et en constante évolution.
  • Les candidats doivent faire preuve d'une forte motivation à réussir et être stimulés par des objectifs ambitieux, mais atteignables.
  • Une bonne connaissance de l'environnement canadien de la formation médicale continue certifiée, ainsi qu'une familiarité avec les processus et exigences d'agrément, constitue un atout important.
  • Le(la) candidat(e) idéal(e) pourra démontrer un parcours professionnel couronné de succès (minimum de trois ans d'expérience) dans l'atteinte d'objectifs de vente en formation médicale ou dans un environnement d'affaires connexe.
