We are proud of our work and commitment to create one of the leading workforce, products and services in the Aviation industry.ReportingThe Human Resources Generalist reports directly to the Senior Manager, Human Resources and Payroll Services.Role SummaryThe Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in driving Avmax's talent acquisition strategy while supporting broader HR functions. This role is heavily focused on full-cycle recruitment, workforce planning, and building strong talent pipelines to support operational and corporate hiring needs.The incumbent partners closely with hiring managers to identify staffing requirements and source high-quality candidates. They ensure the recruitment process is efficient, professional, and compliant with Avmax's operational and regulatory environment.Core CompetenciesCommunication Interpersonal Skills Ethics and Integrity Coaching and MentoringProblem SolvingProfessionalismEmotional IntelligenceExcellent Investigation and Critical-Thinking AbilityKey Performance Indicators / Duties & ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus)Lead full-cycle recruitment including workforce planning, job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.Research and market intelligence (e.g., talent availability, compensation benchmarking, and recruitment trends).Partner with hiring managers to understand operational needs and define role requirements.Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies (e.g., job boards, agencies, referrals and networking).Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill roles (e.g., AMEs, technical roles).Conduct candidate pre-screening and coordinating interviews with hiring teams.Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies and vendors.Monitor recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, quality of hire and cost-per-hire).Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing efforts.Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal hiring policies.HR Advisory & Employee RelationsAdvise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.Support employee relations matters including performance management and discipline.Assist with investigations and provide recommendations on corrective actions.HR Operations & ProjectsSupport onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.Assist in the development and improvement of HR policies and procedures.Participate in HR projects including organizational development and process improvements.Maintain accurate HR records and reportingpliance & Regulatory SupportEnsure recruitment and HR practices align with federal regulations and industry standards.Support audits and compliance initiatives.QualificationsDiploma or degree in Human Resources or related field. Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code (CLC) is considered an asset.Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices and employment legislation.Experience in full-cycle recruitment, preferably in aviation or technical environments.Ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. High level of confidentiality and professionalism. Experience4–8 years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on recruitment.Experience recruiting for technical or operational roles is highly preferred. Experience working in a federally regulated environment is an asset.
