A client is seeking a highly capable Application Technician to take ownership of on-site deployment, testing, and optimisation of advanced explosive technology within a mining environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and can confidently lead implementation at customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site project work including implementation, testing, and commissioning of explosive technology
- Act as the technical authority during deployments, trials, and product introductions
- Define and optimise application methodologies to improve performance and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with engineering and development teams
- Provide hands-on training and technical guidance to site teams and customers
- Collect and analyse performance data to support continuous improvement and product validation
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, legal, and regulatory standards in high-risk environments
- Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to support successful adoption
- Provide remote support and ongoing optimisation of installed systems
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in underground mining and blasting operations
- Proven experience working with underground blasting systems and electrical installations
- Experience in a supervisory or foreman-level role within mining environments
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar (preferred)
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong technical problem-solving ability with a hands-on approach
- Ability to work independently on-site and make sound technical decisions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and influence stakeholders
- High attention to safety, compliance, and operational standards
