Educational Assistant - Temporary - Full-time

Foothills School Division is currently seeking Educational Assistants to provide physical, social, emotional, behavioral and learning support to students/children identified with mild, moderate and/or severe needs in a variety of settings within the school environment.

Full-time hours follow the school calendar scheduled Monday to Friday. Approximate weekly hours will be 32.5 per week until approximately May 31, 2026 with the possibility of extension.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work with minimal supervision under the direction of the classroom teacher and learning coach. They will provide flexible support to students/children according to their changing needs and to facilitate and encourage independence in all areas of student/child development.

The Education Assistant will establish effective working relationships with teachers, parents and the community. A strong background and expertise working with students with a wide range of physical, cognitive, social and emotional differences including:

• Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Trauma
• Down Syndrome
• medically fragile
• mild, moderate and severe intellectually delayed
• ADHD
• self-care personal assistance

Experience working with students with complex needs that includes collaboration with educational support teams and therapists, such as SLP, OT, and Behavioral Consultants is an asset. Pay Grid Level I - High School Diploma
Pay Grid Level II (Certified) - Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma, or a High School Diploma and the equivalent of a minimum of one (1) year of full-time post secondary course study.
