Job Description

This role is about more than pastry, it’s about precision, creativity, and consistency at the highest level. The Pastry Chef de Partie brings technical excellence and artistic flair to every dessert, leading their station with discipline while elevating the guest experience through refined, memorable creations.

Start Date: June 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $24 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Pastry Craft & Execution

  • Prepare, bake, and finish a wide range of pastries, desserts, breads, and confections to exacting standards.
  • Execute recipes with precision while maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Contribute to the development of seasonal desserts, plated presentations, and specialty items in collaboration with the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef.
  • Ensure all pastry items reflect Rimrock’s luxury standards and culinary vision.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the pastry station, adhering to HACCP and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and support proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
  • Control food costs through proper portioning, minimizing waste, and maximizing product utilization.
  • Operate pastry equipment safely and efficiently.

Team & Culture

  • Support and mentor junior team members, fostering growth, skill development, and confidence.
  • Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure seamless execution across all outlets.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and high-performance kitchen culture.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Culinary or Pastry Arts diploma with minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a high-volume, upscale kitchen or bakery.
  • Strong foundation in pastry techniques including baking, chocolate work, plated desserts, and doughs.
  • High attention to detail with a passion for presentation, flavor balance, and innovation.
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and precise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP; FOODSAFE certification.

Bonus if You Bring

  • Experience in luxury hotel or fine dining pastry programs.
  • Skills in advanced techniques such as sugar work, chocolate showpieces, or modern plating.
  • A passion for local, seasonal ingredients and sustainable practices.
  • A desire to mentor and inspire the next generation of pastry professionals.

Physical Demands

• Continuous standing for long periods of time.
• Frequent walking, bending, and reaching above/below shoulder height.
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22lbs / 10kg.
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50lbs / 23kg.
• Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment for extended shifts.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
