Job Description

CEDA is looking for a 2nd year Apprentice Pipefitter to work in our fabrication shop. This position requires candidates to live local to the Bonnyville/Cold Lake area.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in Installation of new mechanical equipment (, pumps, compressors, air dryers, converters, heat exchangers, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, condensate tanks, recirculation pumps, booster pumps, pneumatic controls, coils, isolation valves, 3-way valves, condensate traps)
• Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
• Liaise and collaborate with other trades, consultants and suppliers
• Cleans condensate traps and equipment strainers
• Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others, including training.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Test system for leaks using testing equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications:

• Registered Pipefitter/Steamfitter apprentice status required
• 1 year laborer experience
• Class 5 driver’s license (GDL not accepted) able to provide an abstract with no more than 5 demerits in last 3 years
• Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test, booked by CEDA
