TheOperations Planning & Event Analysisteam withinourGrid Reliabilitydivisionis looking for a full-time Engineering Summer Student to join our team for a 4-month term, May to August 2026. In this position, you willgain hands-on experience under the guidance of professional engineers to support the design,developmentand enhancement of data tools to aid with power system events analysis in the Alberta Electric Interconnected System.
Please note that this position islocatedat our NWoffice in Calgary, Alberta, which is not transit accessible. You will need access to a reliable vehicle to transport yourself to and from work.
Keyaccountabilities:
Support the design, development, and enhancement of system monitoring tools, data analysis,and display tools.
Build and improve data pipelines, workflows, and interfaces that increase the accuracy, accessibility, and consistency of SCADA (PI System) and PMU data analysis.
Develop scripts or tools to automate big data processing, validation, and integration.

Qualifications:
Completion of at least third year coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science/analytics, ora relatedprogram.
Eager to work on real data challenges with real system impact.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Power Platforms (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
Programming experience with Python, SQL, or similar languages.
Basic understanding of power systems or the electricity industry.
Familiarity with AI agents.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a service mindset.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, andopen tocreative initiatives for efficient solutions.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Availability to work fulltime from May to August 2026.
