Job description
Engage marginalized communities as an Outreach Worker focused on hepatitis C. Provide essential education, support, and referrals in a part-time capacity while making a meaningful impact in public health. As a key member of the HCV team, you will reach out to individuals at risk of hepatitis C. The role involves designing and delivering educational sessions and facilitating access to testing and treatment. You'll collaborate with healthcare professionals to promote equity and ensure our agency’s mission is upheld. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct active outreach in targeted community areas • Deliver education on HCV prevention and treatment • Assist clients with essential paperwork and appointments • Provide emotional support during medical visits • Promote and expand harm reduction services Requirements: • 2-year post-secondary program in Health/Social Services • Minimum 1 year experience in community outreach • Knowledge of harm reduction and peer support models • Certification in phlebotomy or willingness to obtain • Excellent communication and advocacy skills Utilize your experience to foster health equity and provide necessary resources for individuals at risk of hepatitis C. #J-18808-Ljbffr
