Job descriptionWe are looking for a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Oakville, Ontario. In this role, you will manage payroll processes, support HR functions, and ensure compliance with Ontario employment standards. Your attention to detail and expertise in payroll will be essential to maintaining accurate records and supporting the needs of our organization.Responsibilities:- Process complete payroll cycles for salaried and hourly employees using CanPay.- Manage payroll changes including vacation requests, resignations, new hires, and adjustments.- Administer benefits, premiums, and deductions while ensuring accurate consolidation.- Transition employee records from physical documents to digital formats.- Provide support for HR activities such as scheduling meetings, tracking attendance, and assisting with administrative tasks.- Prepare bi-weekly payroll reports and ledgers for review.- Assist with organizing team events and performing general office duties.- Ensure payroll processes comply with Ontario employment standards and maintain confidentiality.- Utilize Excel for data tracking, reconciliation, and reporting tasks.- At least 3 years of experience in payroll.- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and processes with a focus on accuracy.- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly learn new software.- Previous experience in HR functions is required; construction industry experience is an asset.- Excellent organizational and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.- Familiarity with accounting software systems and general ledger processes.- Capable of managing time sheets and payroll-related documentation efficiently.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
