A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Wind Turbine Technician for Siemens Energy, your day begins with a safety briefing and team check-in, ensuring everyone is aligned on the day’s priorities. You oversee work execution, monitor turbine performance, and support technicians as they carry out maintenance and troubleshooting tasks. You walk the site regularly, verify work quality, and enforce safety protocols.
Throughout the day, you perform safety inspections, manage inventory and warehouse needs, and review service order dispatches and closures. You work closely with the Service Operations Manager and Service Operations Planner to coordinate headcount and lead site operations. You also collaborate with supporting functions to help ensure site profitability and contractual availability targets are met.
When unexpected issues arise, you make quick, informed decisions to keep operations running smoothly. Your leadership keeps the team focused, safe, and productive — even when the wind picks up and the weather turns.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead daily operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance of the wind farm, driving operational excellence across the site.
- Champion safety culture by enforcing rigorous safety standards and fostering a proactive approach to risk management and compliance.
- Empower your team through hands-on leadership, coaching, and development, cultivating a high-performing and engaged workforce.
- Optimize asset performance by collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to identify and implement improvements.
- Act as the key liaison between site operations and corporate leadership, ensuring clear communication and alignment with strategic goals.
- Drive sustainability goals by contributing to the delivery of clean energy and supporting environmental stewardship initiatives.
What You Bring
- Proven leadership experiencein renewable energy, utilities, or industrial operations, with a track record of managing teams and driving performance.
- Strong understanding of wind farm operations, including maintenance planning, asset management, and health & safety compliance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Analytical mindsetwith the ability to interpret data, solve problems, and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Commitment to safety and sustainability, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement and environmental responsibility.
- Relevant technical qualifications(, engineering, electrical, or mechanical) and familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
