Director of Philanthropy

HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE

Exceptional fundraising is about far more than asking for donations—it's about inspiring generosity, building meaningful relationships, and creating opportunities for people to make a lasting difference.

Due to organizational growth and an exciting new phase of strategic investment in philanthropy, Ve'ahavta is creating a new Director of Philanthropy position to lead and strengthen our fundraising strategy.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced fundraising leader who wants to build, innovate, and make a meaningful impact.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of philanthropy at one of Toronto's most respected Jewish social service organizations.

You'll lead fundraising strategy, cultivate transformational donor relationships, strengthen development systems, and help foster a culture of philanthropy that supports Ve'ahavta's continued growth and impact.

If you're a strategic relationship-builder who believes philanthropy is ultimately about trust, partnership, and changing lives, we'd love to meet you.

WHY JOIN VE’AHAVTA?

Lead and Build

This is a newly created leadership position born out of organizational expansion, giving you the opportunity to influence strategy, strengthen systems, and help shape the future of philanthropy at Ve'ahavta.

Collaborative Leadership

Work alongside a supportive Executive Team, an engaged Board of Directors, and passionate colleagues who value collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Meaningful Relationships

Develop authentic partnerships with donors, foundations, corporations, and community leaders who share a commitment to social justice and strengthening our community.

Award-Winning Workplace Culture

Join a workplace recognized as a Non-Profit Employer of Choice in 2023, 2024, and 2025, where people are supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow.

Flexibility & Wellness

  • Hybrid work model
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental & Vision Benefits
  • Wellness Spending Account
  • Generous paid vacation
  • Office closures for statutory and Jewish holidays
  • Professional development funding

ABOUT VE’AHAVTA

Ve’ahavta is a registered non-profit social service organization grounded in the Jewish ethics of justice, kindness, and responsibility. Through innovative programs and community partnerships, we work to break down barriers, restore human dignity, and support individuals facing poverty and social exclusion.

Our programs empower people to navigate socio-economic barriers, build stability, and create lasting change in their lives.
