The English Summer Pathway Program (SPP) launched in 2021 and is offered in partnership by both Mount Allison University and the New Brunswick Community College. It is designed to support academically qualified students from non-English backgrounds in their transition to full-time study at both institutions. The SPP features a blend of level-specific academic English and academic skills courses, as well as a foundational and introductory set of co-curricular modules and activities to introduce international students to the history, culture, and geography of Atlantic Canada. Students will transition from the SPP to full-time, unconditional study at their designated institution (either Mount Allison or NBCC) once they have successfully completed the SPP program requirements in order to meet their respective institution’s language requirements for unconditional admission starting in September. More information about the program and its structure can be found at
While a foundational curriculum and activity suggestions are provided for the 12 weeks of the program, the Instructor will be responsible for preparing lessons and course materials, grading assignments, facilitating student engagement and participation, and assessing students’ progress in the program in order to advise Mount Allison and NBCC about students’ eligibility to progress into full-time studies before the start of classes in September.
Reporting to the Summer Pathway Program Manager, the SPP instructor will teach classes 4 hours per day for a total of 20 hours per week. All classes for the 2026 SPP will be delivered online.
