Analyst or Associate, Structured Solutions Group (On-Site)

A career as an Analyst or Associate (depending on experience) in the Structured Solutions Group at National Bank means acting as a structured product expert to support the distribution of our solutions within the Canadian retail wealth management channel. Our clients are investment advisors (mostly IIROC) and portfolio managers across Canada. We also support the distribution and marketing of Market-Linked GIC within the branch network of National Bank. This role allows you to make a positive impact on our organization by leveraging your knowledge of investment products and your commitment to delivering high-quality client service.

Structured products are customized investment solutions designed to adapt to evolving market conditions while meeting investors' specific views and risk tolerances. The selected candidate will work closely with the Canadian Sales team, trading, product management, legal and other stakeholders, to deliver the best services and solutions, ultimately enhancing the client experience.

Due to the tactical nature of our offering, the wide range and volume of products, and the many processes involved, this role requires strong attention to detail and a keen sense of curiosity to ensure operational efficiency and quality.

Your job:

• Provide day‑to‑day support to the sales teams on client inquiries and opportunities
• Support the full life cycle of products distributed within the branch network, from product positioning and launch to ongoing sales support, training, and branch presentations
• Support the business development initiatives, marketing, and sales efforts for all product lines
• Serve as a key resource for the sales team by creating and maintaining various presentations up to date, and by providing both quantitative and qualitative analyses
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and partners to drive sales growth
• Coordinate and help resolve administrative and operational issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to provide high‑quality client experience
• Contribute to maintaining the CRM systems and client data quality to support reporting, transformation, and automation initiatives
• Contribute to process documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives

As part of the Structured Solutions Group, you will be joining a team of 18 colleagues and reporting to the two co-heads of the Sales Support and Product Management team. Our team stands out for its dynamism, its ability to design and distribute a large volume of innovative, high-performing products tailored to various market conditions, while combining technical expertise with an in-depth understanding of clients’ needs.

The Structured Solutions Group, along with other teams involved in structured products, operates on-site at National Bank’s trading floor in Montreal. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of financial markets or the Canadian wealth management industry
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
• Versatile, resourceful, proactive and above all have a curiosity to learn
• Strong listening and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and problems
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Strong ability to work under pressure

Preferred competencies (asset):

• Experience in the investment industry
• Knowledge of National Bank’s branch network operations (processes, systems and products)
• Good knowledge of Salesforce (CRM) and Bloomberg
• Good knowledge of programming languages (Python, VBA, etc.) and database systems
• CFA designation (completed or in progress)
