About the Opportunity
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Transportation Engineer (Design and/or Planning) on behalf of a well-established, multidisciplinary consulting firm.
This is an opportunity for a transportation engineer (4-10 years of experience) to work on a diverse range of transportation infrastructure projects across Western Canada, including urban roadways, highways, and multimodal corridors.
The role is suited for professionals looking to grow into leadership positions while gaining exposure to both transportation planning and detailed design within a collaborative team environment.
Transportation Planner — Requirements
- Designation: P.Eng. or EIT (8+ years, progressing to P.Eng.)
- Experience: Transportation planning & functional studies (corridors, traffic, safety, cost-benefit)
- Technical: Strong in traffic analysis and modeling
- Project exposure: Proposal support + project coordination / PM support
- Client-facing: Experience with stakeholders, public engagement, presentations
- Communication: Strong technical writing (reports, memos)
- Mentorship: Ability to support/guide junior staff
Software:
- VISSIM, VISUM, EMME, Synchro/SimTraffic
Transportation Designer — Requirements
- Designation: P.Eng. or Technologist
- Experience: Transportation detailed design (roadways, highways, corridors)
- Technical: Strong in geometric design, alignments, profiles, standards/specs
- Project exposure: Design delivery + PM/coordination support
- Construction: Experience with tendering and contract administration
- Mentorship: Ability to mentor junior staff
- Client-facing: Exposure to client coordination and project delivery
Software:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D (alignments, profiles, corridors)
- AutoTURN, TORUS, Softree, Cap-X
