Job description
Adecco is currently seeking a Accounting Clerk for a full-time position in Gold River, B.C. This opportunity is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with experience in accounts payable, banking, cash handling, and clerical support, who are comfortable providing responsive service to staff, vendors, and programme managers.
As an Accounting Clerk, you will provide accurate and timely clerical and administrative support to the Finance Department, ensuring smooth operations and organized financial records while assisting with payroll, banking, and month-end processes.
  • Salary: $22.57 - $24.87/hour, based on experience
  • Location: Gold River, B.C. - Onsite (vehicle required)
  • Schedule: Monday to Thursday, every other Friday off; occasional overtime
  • Contract: Full-time | Permanent

Responsibilities:
  • Process and code vendor invoices; prepare cheque/EFT payments; maintain vendor records
  • Reconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries
  • Process credit card transactions and staff expense claims
  • Assist with payroll by collecting/validating timesheets and maintaining records
  • Prepare deposits, deliver to the bank, manage petty cash, and post transactions
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and basic accounts receivable tasks
  • Support month-end close through data entry, reconciliations, and schedule preparation
  • Maintain organised financial records (electronic and paper)
  • Support membership database and routine member correspondence (as assigned)
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance team
Requirements:
  • Certificate/diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, business administration, or equivalent experience
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in accounts payable or finance administration
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel) and ability to learn accounting/payroll software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Payworks)
  • Excellent accuracy, organization, and time management
  • Professional discretion with confidential information; strong customer service mindset
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence (for banking runs)
  • Experience in Indigenous or public sector environments is an asset
  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada
