Business Intelligence and Analytics Developer - REMOTE

Are you a data expert looking to make a tangible impact on public services? Our Calgary client is seeking a specialized Business Intelligence and Analytics consultant for an initial 12-month contract engagement focused on enhancing their data delivery capacity. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a sophisticated IT ecosystem, where you will use your expertise in ETL development and data visualization to support a diverse portfolio of municipal projects.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to define and document complex reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with the IT Governance team to validate all solution architectural proposals.
• Review and update existing data marts to ensure they meet evolving business needs.
• Develop and modify ETL scripts for new tables to maintain data integrity.
• Build and manage data pipelines within the Azure Data Factory environment.
• Create interactive reports and dashboards using approved visualization technologies.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and provide training to internal support staff.

Qualifications
• Five or more years of experience developing successful business intelligence and analytics solutions.
• Extensive background using PowerCenter Informatica, SAP BusinessObjects, or Microsoft data platforms.
• Five or more years of experience applying data modelling principles such as Kimball Dimensional Modelling.
• Proven history working with database technologies and scripting in Oracle or SQL Server.
• Two or more years of experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior developers.
• Current Azure AZ-104 certification is required and Microsoft DP-600 or DP-700 certifications are highly preferred.
