SUMMARY
Manufacture and test electrical/mechanical assemblies for robotic and factory automation systems. Interface with representatives of other departments. Possess fundamental knowledge of Yaskawa Motoman's quality and production system for effective performance with minimum supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties maybe assigned.
Adhere to the highest practicable safety/housekeeping standards including an understanding of 5S practices.
- Possess safe working understanding of electrical circuits (24V, 120V, 208V, 480V, 575V).
- Build, test, repair electrical and mechanical sub-assembly components as required.
- Build assemblies and systems by providing manufacturing support as schedule dictates.
- Ability to understand overall subassemblies design, function and operation.
- Organize and plan assigned tasks and workflow, using verbal and written communication.
- Support Manufacturing Supervisor in departmental planning and coordination to meet or exceed Yaskawa Motoman's quality, delivery and productivity standards.
- Liaise directly with representatives of other departments as required to meet quality, delivery and production goals.
- Utilize and help maintain ISO procedures, work instructions, and new work instructions for new assembly processes specific to Yaskawa Canada.
- Recommend improvements in assembly processes, quality, on time delivery, and productivity, to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate, during the assembly process, Yaskawa Motoman standard components and special ordered parts for fitness of use. Report discrepancies using Yaskawa Motoman's Quality system.
- Responsible for the proper usage of all departmental equipment and tools.
- Responsible for usage and disposition of all materials used in production.Maintain inventory levels of consumable materials used in the sub-assembly low levels and recommended items to Technical Buyer and Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Complete all departmental Technical Training programs, including necessary qualification requirements, and all associated safety training.
- Continue to attend training to maintain skills as applicable.
- Assist co-workers and new team members with on-the-job training.
- Promote teamwork and foster an exemplary working environment. Interact with coworkers in a manner, which enhances employee satisfaction.
- May be required to travel to customer facilities for repairs and to assist with install and start-up systems and equipment.
- Work under minimal supervision completing assignment meeting project specific requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Certified Electrical Technician or Technologist with corresponding diploma and at 3-5 years of experience with automated system wiring and electrical panel assembly.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to read and understand basic electrical/electronic schematics and diagrams. Must be able to read and understand basic mechanical be able to apply these technical skills in an effective manner.Proficient use of electrical and mechanical hand tools as well as hand operated power tools.

The employee occasionally is exposed to risk of electrical noise level in the work environment is usually may require the occasional use of/contact with/exposure to various hazardous materials (such as, but not limited to grease, oils, lubricants, paint, thinner, parts cleaner, etc.). Employees should have basic awareness of hazardous materials cautions. Those directly using the materials must have specific knowledge of material in use.
