Role Description

Reporting to the Parts Manager, the Parts Technician plays a critical front‑facing, customer‑focused role and is often the first point of contact for walk‑in and phone‑in customers. This role is central to DAC’s success, as the Parts department represents a significant portion of the business and is built on strong relationships, responsiveness, and trust.

In this role, you will be responsible for handling parts inquiries, processing orders, supporting inside sales and service teams, and ensuring customers receive professional, timely, and solutions‑oriented support. In a fast‑paced and highly variable environment, your ability to prioritize, multitask, and communicate effectively will directly impact customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Your responsibilities will include:

Customer Service & Relationship Building
  • Act as the primary point of contact for walk‑in and phone‑in parts inquiries.
  • Greet customers professionally and provide a positive first impression of DAC.
  • Listen carefully to customer needs and accurately identify required parts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with repeat customers across multiple industries.
  • Go the extra mile to ensure customer confidence, satisfaction, and loyalty.
Parts Sales & Order Processing
  • Provide accurate parts quotations, availability, and lead times.
  • Enter and process parts orders efficiently within DAC’s ERP system.
  • Navigate multiple OEM parts platforms, online catalogues, and vendor systems to identify correct components.
  • Track orders, manage due dates, and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Prioritize larger or more complex orders while balancing walk‑ins and incoming calls.
Operational & Team Support
  • Work closely with inside sales, service advisors, and technicians to support customer and shop needs.
  • Assist with sourcing alternative solutions when parts availability challenges arise.
  • Manage multiple inquiries simultaneously in an unpredictable, frequently high‑traffic environment.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team‑oriented culture, supporting others when volumes are high.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a parts specialist, in a customer facing role, within an industrial, truck & transport, heavy equipment, or similar organization.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Comfort working in a fast paced, front line role with frequent walk ins and phone inquiries.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to learn complex parts systems and product lines.
  • Confidence to ask questions, seek support, and continuously self learn.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems and OEM platforms is an asset.
  • A professional, relationship driven mindset with a genuine desire to help customers succeed.
Why Join DAC?
  • Small, supportive, family oriented culture with no corporate ego or internal politics.
  • A relationship driven business, where repeat customers and long term partnerships are the norm.
  • Meaningful impact, as parts represent a major portion of DAC’s business, and your role directly contributes to company success.
  • Collaborative environment where ideas are welcomed and good suggestions can influence how work gets done.
  • Room to grow, with opportunities for progression as the business continues to expand.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits, including hourly pay, medical coverage, paid vacation, and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • Team lunches, BBQs, and a workplace where people genuinely enjoy working together.
