Terminal Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the terminal to ensure the efficient movement of equipment and freight. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to foster a cohesive team environment. The Terminal Manager ensures that all performance, quality, and safety standards are consistently met while maintaining a focus on cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm
Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Collaborate with all departments and terminals to eliminate barriers in the movement of equipment and freight, optimizing usage and minimizing costs.
- Supervise the daily operations of the Dartmouth Terminal, ensuring performance, quality, and service standards are met. Duties include monitoring dock cleanliness, ensuring orders are ready for delivery, and reviewing equipment needs to meet customer requirements.
- Manage employee relationships and performance within the terminal, fostering an environment of trust, open communication, and accountability.
- Prepare and analyze reports on performance, freight damage, accidents and injuries, customers, and employees to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Work with the Director of Terminal Operations for Nova Scotia and Dispatch to forecast equipment and staffing needs based on volume trends and customer demand.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, training, and regulatory requirements, as well as adherence to organizational standards, processes, and policies.

- Experience and understanding of Transportation Management systems - Experience with TruckMate is considered an asset.
Working Conditions - Fast-paced terminal/office environment.
- Ability to work variable shifts when required (days, nights, weekends, holidays) and longer shifts to cover gaps.
- A high volume of communication via email and phone.
Education & Experience: - Minimum five (5) years' experience in the transportation and logistics industry or a related field, or a combination of relevant work experience and education. For example, CITT Supply Chain and Logistics Certification, or other relevant college degree or industry certification.
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a terminal supervisor role.
- Knowledge of the road transportation industry, including Atlantic Canadian geography and travel times, is considered an asset
