JOB DESCRIPTION :
Reporting to the VP of Business Development, this role combines product engineering, technical program management, and customer-facing sales engineering. You will lead the definition and innovation of the company's product solutions, manage technical project execution, and serve as the main technical liaison to OEM customers, ensuring quality, feasibility, and alignment with business objectives.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Product Engineering (50%)
Define product solutions, engineering scopes, and material specifications.
Interpret OEM drawings, specifications, and compliance requirements.
Develop and maintain engineering standards, best practices, and technical libraries.
Conduct feasibility assessments and identify engineering risks.
Research new materials, composites, and applications; support innovation pipeline.
Manage future product concepts and proprietary product development (e.g., OKAPLY floor system, composite panels).
2. Technical Program Management (20%)
Lead technical planning, schedules, and milestones for assigned programs, with emphasis on Rail projects.
Coordinate engineering deliverables, including BOMs, prototypes, testing, and validations.
Manage the technical execution from RFQ → prototype → release → production.
Ensure conformity with customer specifications and multi-year program milestones.
Oversee Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including feasibility, cost/margin impacts, and cross-functional implementation.
3. Sales Engineering & Customer Support
Serve as Artik’s primary technical contact for OEM customers in buses and rail.
Lead technical communications, prepare RFQ responses, and provide design recommendations.
Deliver value-engineered solutions to optimize technical performance and profitability.
Support ESG and sustainability documentation, customer audits, and compliance requests.
4. Estimation Support
Review RFQs for technical risks and define engineering scope for bids.
Identify design, materials, and manufacturing risks early in the bid process.
Contribute to Bid/No-Bid and Risk/Reward review decisions.
Profil
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product engineering, sales engineering, engineering management, or systems engineering.
- Experience with complex systems in bus, rail, automotive, aerospace, industrial, or composite applications.
- Strong knowledge of product design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in technical program management, ideally in Rail or industrial projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with good proficiency in French for internal and customer interactions.
- Demonstrated ability in program/project execution and multi-project coordination.
Informations contractuelles
WORK CONDITIONS :
- Permanent, full-time position
- 130 000$- to 150 000$ based on experience & 10 to 15 % bonuses / yearly
- Hybrid work, with some occasional travel (2-3 times/month) across Québec, Canada or United States.
