Oracle DBA with Commvault Expertise | Backup & Recovery Specialist

Location : Toronto, ON

Duration : 6 Months

Are you an Oracle DBA with expertise in backup and recovery using Commvault?

We are looking for a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our team for a 6-month contract in Toronto, ON. In this role, you'll work on cutting-edge Oracle Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) projects, including installation, configuration, and database migration.

Oracle DBA Key Responsibilities

Backup & Recovery Setup

Install and configure Oracle database backups from DDBOOST to the cutting-edge Oracle Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) to ensure zero data loss.
Establish and optimize processes for backup and recovery using Commvault solutions.
Analyze and troubleshoot backup issues to guarantee database integrity and recoverability.

Database Migration

Lead the Oracle DB migration process, transitioning backups from DDBOOST to Oracle ZDLRA seamlessly and with minimal impact on operations.

Perform testing and validation of migrated backups to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

Configuration & Performance

Configure and manage ZDLRA for maximum efficiency and performance in backup and recovery operations.

Monitor and fine-tune backup systems, implementing improvements where necessary.

Oracle DBA Required Skills & Expertise

Technical Expertise

Strong experience as an Oracle DBA (7+ years preferred).

Hands-on expertise with Commvault Backup & Recovery tools, particularly DDBOOST.

In-depth understanding of Oracle Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA), including installation and configuration.

Database Administration & Migration

Proven experience managing Oracle database environments, including backup, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Ability to lead and execute end-to-end migration of Oracle database backups efficiently.

Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting

Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues related to backup and recovery systems.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work on mission-critical systems with a zero-data-loss objective.

Soft Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document configurations and collaborate with stakeholders.

A proactive, results-oriented approach with a strong ability to adhere to tight deadlines.
