Position- Sr. Business Data Analyst
Location: Toronto , Ontario , MV S (Hybrid)/ Mountain View City CA Hybrid
Introduction
Senior Business Data Analyst that has work experience successfully curating Project Management Office (PMO) data, reports and dashboards dispersed amongst several PMO tools, in various formats and in adhoc Microsoft or Google based documentation.
A recent shift in PMO tools and leadership reset led to the need to enhance our key performance indicators (KPI). The challenge to overcome will be to catalog over , projects properly to derive meaningful insights and identify trends that will drive the prosperity of our organization. This involves reviewing a large amount of data, determining the fields/values that will drive decisions and providing a variety of creative views to heighten engagement with clarity of value evident at every step of the journey.
To be successful in this role, the candidate must be self-sufficient, internally driven, views constant change as a challenge and is motivated to overcome blockers. Training is provided, however no micro-management will occur, therefore candidates need to be independent and enthusiastic about advancing a heavy workload rapidly. Virtual networking, navigating numerous internal resources and efficient data accumulation will be the consistent experience and candidates proficient in these areas will be successful.
From day one, assistance in structuring/acquiring data stored in various places with a discipline philosophy devoted to the collection and categorization of meaningful data representations will be of the utmost importance. The candidate will have experience with various PMO tools and provide verbal (visual preferred) evidence of how the representation of the data they produced without assistance resulted in meaningful outcomes during the interview process. The ultimate goal is to use data, metrics to encourage the advancement of our program and the prosperity of the company goals.
Required Skills
Master Data Management
Demonstrating a data re-engineering mindset is desired as the majority of our data will be unstructured requiring the identification of data gaps with defined solution plans/timelines to overcome them. While this is not an engineering role, this role needs to be very familiar with the common data organizational challenges and quickly overcome them such as creating or locating data to drive leadership decisions. To be productive this position will drive data best practices, program awareness, avoid duplication of efforts and generate a sense of community that aligns with clean data being a benefit to all.
Documentation Creation
Vast experience accompanied by a portfolio of innovative presentations must be part of this team members work history. Communicating in various ways and introducing methods of effective communication will be a big part of gaining a following and driving recognition of the valuable automation work performed. If unable to share content the candidate will need to speak to / describe past ways they have shared success stories through meaningful documentation that sends a powerful message without a voiceover to accommodate it.
