Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Project Development Manager to join our Fiber and Chemicals team. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for advancing Allnorth’s brand reputation and long-term opportunity pipeline in the Fiber and Chemical Industry.
Working with the Operations Leader’s team, the Project Development Manager will contribute to the formation and execution of the industry business strategy and driving “top line” growth within the sector while monitoring the workload across engineering team members working with the team including senior managers to cultivate exceptional client satisfaction.
A Day in the Life
- Lead proposal development and often actively write proposals and develop fee estimates.
- Lead early study phases of a project and develop our client relationships through the project phase delivery.
- Assist in growing the team in this sector through the identification and the recruitment of talented project engineers and managers whilst providing team and individual leadership and mentorship.
- Support the team in project delivery and ensure that we are delivering projects that meet the clients needs while looking out for the interests of Allnorth.
- Maintain the long-term client relationships and front log.
- Prospect for potential new clients in key industries within Allnorth’s service offering such as Pulp and Paper, Chemical and other areas in the Industrial Process Industries.
- Align with Operations and Growth Team to develop account strategies and meet with targeted clients on a regular basis to strategically build a relationship and grow revenue. Identify opportunities for client growth including appropriate up sell or cross sell.
- Maintain proactive client communication to foster a high touch relationship including weekly and monthly reporting, crisis management and escalations.
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and trends.
- Take the necessary steps to mitigate engagement delivery risks, including leading and participating in internal quality assurance reviews.
- Responsible for reporting through weekly progress reports, utilizing Salesforce and sales forecasting.
- Support project development across multiple divisions – One Team.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- P.eng with at least 15 years' direct industry experience in a discipline related to Allnorth's service offerings is preferred. A BSc or Diploma in Technology and /or directly related experience in the Pulp & Paper, Chemicals or Panelboard Industries will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects successfully under a wide range of contractual and project delivery formats, incorporating sub-consultants in an effective delivery team structure.
- A track record of crafting winning proposals for engineering assignments
- Demonstrated success selling and growing a portfolio of business in an engineering consulting domain with a clear understanding of the industry sector.
- Demonstrated success identifying and understanding client goals, interests, limitations and leverage; is able to calculate the cost / benefit of various options and formulate a strategy that explores alternatives, settlement ranges, opening position and concession path; implementing that strategy to reach outcomes that gain support and acceptance of all parties.
- Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the collective achievement of Allnorth’s objectives. Able to identify opportunities and take action to build strategic relationships between clients and Allnorth.
- Embrace and cultivate the common vision for Allnorth and participate in creating a unified leadership team that gets results.
- Able to work effectively with others, outside the line of formal authority and use appropriate interaction skills and methods to guide others to make a decision or accomplish work.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice.
