Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We’re looking for a Claims Specialist, Prestige to join our growing Prestige team on a 12 months secondment!

Intact Prestige handles specialized protection for high-net-worth customers. Whether its looking to protect an irreplaceable art collection, high-end home equipment, watercraft, other precious valuables, no question is too narrow and no issue is too complicated for our Intact Prestige roster of experts.

As a Claims Specialist, Prestige your work will have a big impact on our high-net-worth customers by completing complex investigations on unique customer properties. You will determine the circumstances and causes of the loss, transcribe and check statements, and calculate the total loss or damage covered by the policy, to negotiate a fair settlement of the claims by the company.

Here are a few ways you'll make a difference:

• Investigate high-value and complex personal lines property claims in a timely and respectful manner through communication with customers, contractor, consultants, brokers, and any other related parties

• Handle field tasks on behalf of telephone adjusters

• Provide a superior quality of customer service to external and internal customers, and answer queries relating to the claims process

• Document the claims file by meeting with all involved parties and obtaining appropriate reports and statements from customers, appraisers, third party adjusters, claimants, witnesses, police, and any other pertinent experts to determine coverage.

• Analyze the information gathered, interprets insurance policy wordings, determines coverage, assesses damage

• Within established authority limits, negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims

• Keep up to date on Intact’s Prestige products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and services.

• Maintain current knowledge of insurance products, as well as appraisal or investigation techniques and services

Your Skills

• University degree or college diploma preferred and/or equivalent business experience

• Completed or working towards a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation

• 5 to 7 years experience handling personal property claims with at least partly acquired experience directly in the field

• Demonstrates a passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills

• Self-motivated and goal oriented, capable of working in a fast paced and changing environment

• Strong aptitude for technology with excellent computer skills

• Demonstrates strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

• Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record

• Ability to travel on short notice

• Build the Prestige Brand with our broker partners and use strategic thinking to work on projects and implement valued added improvements to our claims process.
