The Health & Safety Professional - Windsor Assembly Plant position is responsible to implement and administer standardized processes to ensure compliance to Federal, Provincial and Local regulations and Corporate Policies and Procedures on a 3 shift operation.
This position will help achieve world class status and impact corporate savings through the elimination of occupational injuries/illnesses, property damage and improvement of production efficiency as well as safeguarding the health and safety of all employees. This specific position will focus on health and safety compliance, SIS (Stellantis Industrial System) safety activities, Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001), and health and safety improvement goals. The successful candidate will also provide support functionally for Human Resources and Labour Relations.
The Health & Safety Professional - Windsor Assembly Plant position will report to the Plant WHS Lead and be responsible for and not limited to:
- Implement WHS training programs and training assessments to ensure required training is identified and conducted.
- Conduct regular audits of WHS processes and necessary follow-up to ensure compliance and advise plant leadership and corporate WHS staff of findings.
- Analyze injury/illness experience including ergonomics, identify/track injury correlation, determine root causes, implement corrective action and communicate this information to plant leadership and corporate WHS.
- Support new equipment programs at the concept stage to ensure that WHS design specifications and regulations are included.
- Manage routine safety reports including data acquisition, documentation, record keeping, monitoring, review, and approval.
- Coordinate communication of WHS regulatory inspection activity with plant leadership.
- Lead WHS projects to improve WHS key performance metrics.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the plant’s safety management system to meet OHSAS 18001 and SPW safety requirements.
- Support labour relations and human resources functions as required.
- Must be available to work overtime and shift work as required.
The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per year.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Science or related Health & Safety field
- Strong understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
- Minimum TWO (2) years of experience in a Manufacturing environment in a Health & Safety
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills
- Automotive or manufacturing experience
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite and / or other software
- Willingness to work on any shift and additional hours as required
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications:
- Safety related professional certifications (e.g. CSP, CIH)
- Experience conducting workplace safety and compliance audits
