Position Overview:
Idylwylde Golf & Country Club is restructuring its Curling operations and seeking a Winter Operations Manager/Member Services candidate to lead this change. This year-round position will be responsible and accountable for the overall management, leadership, and administration of the Curling operation while lending support to the Administration and Member Services Team. We are seeking a dynamic and creative leader who is a Team player who will bring a commitment to excellence and quality. The successful candidate will lead and elevate the Curling operations while continuously learning and improving the Members and Guest experience.

Established in 1922, the Idylwylde Golf & Country Club is a family-oriented, eco-friendly club that supports our community while providing outstanding golf, curling, dining, and social experiences for the enjoyment of all Members and Guests. Conveniently located in the heart of Sudbury, Idylwylde is nestled between Laurentian University and beautiful Lakes Ramsey and Nepahwin.
The Club is governed by a Board of Directors that the General Manager reports to. The Winter Operations Manager/Member Services position reports to the General Manager.
The Club is entering into a period of exciting times of significant capital investment to improve the Golf Course and Clubhouse amenities.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:
- Lead the strategic development and expansion of the Club’s Curling program to achieve Board-approved annual targets for Curling Members and Curling events.
- Oversee the full Curling Membership lifecycle: inquiries, applications, orientation, category changes, resignations, and reinstatements. Provide support for the Golf, Social and Legacy Membership cycles.
- Plan, schedule, and manage leagues, bonspiels, clinics, junior programs, and special events.
- Supervise all Curling Staff that includes Ice Technician and Ice Helpers.
- Collaborate with the Ice Technician to optimize ice allocation and Member experience.
- Deliver on‑ice coaching for recreational, league, junior, and competitive Curlers.
- Run Learn‑to‑Curl programs, including the Junior Little Rocks program, skill development clinics, and team coaching sessions.
Member Services & Administration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Curling Member inquiries, concerns, and feedback and provide support for all other categories of Membership, Golf, Social and Legacy.
- Working with the Administrative Team to update membership records and payment information, accounts receivable, accounts payable, matching and reconciliation of accounts.
- Participate as an active Member and provide support to the Membership and Curling Committees.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead by example and manage a high-performing team by fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning in a positive, inclusive and welcoming work environment.
- Support continuous learning and growth through coaching, training, and performance development initiatives.
Financial Oversight:
- Create an annual budget for the Curling department with regular monitoring and reporting.
- Create and maximize revenue opportunities in the Curling department while controlling costs to ensure efficiency and profitability.
Problem Solving:
- Quickly and efficiently address operational challenges to sustain an exceptional Curling and Member experience.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence for compliance to Club bylaws, policies, and provincial employment and privacy standards as well as TSSA regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Curling Club and hospitality environment.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coaching curlers at all levels with Curling Canada Competition Coach Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
- Proficiency with club management software (Jonas or similar).
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Compensation Details:
- Total compensation package $75,000 to $90,000.
