Job Title: MQ Middleware SME
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Duration: 6 Months

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Enterprise Architect with a focus on MQ Middleware. This role is pivotal in designing and maintaining robust messaging solutions that integrate mission-critical mainframe systems with custom applications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in MQ Middleware to architect, implement, and maintain messaging solutions.
• Expertise in IBM MQ on zOS, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance data exchange.
• Strong skills in installation, configuration, tuning, and upgrading of IBM MQ in a zOS environment.
• Proficiency in integrating applications developed in Java, .NET, COBOL, etc., with mainframe systems via MQ messaging.
• Prior work experience in a similar role or within the industry.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with performance tuning and monitoring of MQ environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex MQ-related incidents.
• Experience in scripting and automation using JCL, REXX, Python, or Ansible.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and architect complex MQ messaging infrastructures on mainframe and distributed platforms.
• Lead the installation and configuration of IBM MQ components.
• Provide expert-level support for integrating custom applications with mainframe systems.
• Implement and manage security configurations, including SSL/TLS and channel authentication.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for managing MQ objects and configurations.
