Job Summary
We are hiring a General Labour team member for a temporary-to-permanent opportunity in precast concrete manufacturing in Guelph, ON. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in construction, concrete, heavy manufacturing, or industrial production who is comfortable working in a busy, physical environment.
You will support the Wet Cast Department, assisting with concrete production, material handling, finishing, cleaning, and safe use of hand and power tools. This is a long-term opportunity with competitive union wages, scheduled wage increases, overtime potential, and the opportunity to be hired permanently after the required hours.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with concrete production activities in the Wet Cast Department.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to support forming, finishing, cleaning, and general production tasks.
- Handle materials and prepare products for the production process.
- Perform physical general labour duties including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for the full shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a dusty and noisy industrial environment.
- Follow all health, safety, quality, and production procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
- Job type: Temporary-to-permanent opportunity.
- Location: Guelph, ON, N1C 0A1.
- Shift available: Days, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Department: Wet Cast Department, concrete mixing area.
- Pay rate: First 240 hours at $26.61 per hour.
- Pay rate: Next 240 hours at $29.20 per hour.
- Pay rate after 480 hours and full-time hire: $31.81 per hour.
- Shift premium: $1.50 per hour for hours worked starting after 12:00 PM or ending before 5:00 AM, effective January 13, 2025.
- Overtime: Saturday at 1.5x and Sunday at 2x.
- Overtime is expected and required on a regular basis.
- Unionized environment, union dues will apply.
- 8-hour shift with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- PPE provided: Hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety vest.
- Onsite facilities include vending machines, coffee machines, lockers, and access card provided on the first day.
- Orientation is completed onsite on the first day.
