On Side Restoration is looking for a Project Supervisor-Construction to join our team! Reporting to the Operations Manager, Project Supervisors oversee branch repair teams and projects.
The Project Supervisor is all about leading people, a history of working with repair scopes / processes and getting work done to keep clients satisfied. Overseeing all repair personnel, the Project Supervisor-Construction must have superior knowledge of construction and the ability to build great teams and working relationships, needs to be highly knowledgeable of all types of restoration and stay up to date on all health and safety standards.
Project Supervisors are responsible for:
- Overseeing commercial and residential rebuilds/restoration projects
- Dealing with permits and city representatives on commercial projects
- Collaborating with Project Managers to organize and execute scope of work
- Communicating with Project Managers, direct reports, and home owners
- Working within a budget to get a job done
- Leadership and Coaching Field Staff
- Health & Safety on jobs sites
- Leading large teams on site (sometimes multiple sites) including in house staff, sub-trades while collaborating with other tradespeople, vendors, clients, and environmental consultants to achieve outcomes
- Monitor and maintain schedules, communicating with stakeholders regularly to ensure customer satisfaction
- Documentation of site visits and job progress
- Site Safety Inspections
- Working on the tools as required
What you bring:
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- 5+ years of Construction/Restoration related experience
- 3+years of leadership in the construction or restoration industry is preferred
- Leadership abilities and a preference for teamwork
- Knowledge of building materials and schedule of timeline to complete tasks
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)
- Training abilities and a passion for helping teams get ‘it’ right the first time
- Strong technical knowledge in finishing
- Strong organizational and inventory management abilities
- Excellent communicator with a natural, authentic rapport
- Track record creating a lean and efficient team
- Team player, self-motivated and goal oriented.
- Ability to prioritize and meet tight timelines
- Computer skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of building codes
- Enhanced critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Clear understanding of industry standards and new innovative building materials
Other stuff that’ll help you be successful:
- Skilled trade(s) or IICRC certificates
- Knowledge of basic drying concepts and drying equipment usage
- Standard First Aid certification
- Physically fit
- IICRC certification in: Water Restoration Technician IICRC and/or Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician IICRC
- Fall Protection
- Health and Safety Certifications
Of Note
The restoration industry requires flexibility to respond to emergencies. While this role is not a scheduled on-call position, be aware that unforeseen disasters may necessitate after-hours work.
