Embedded Software Engineer

Our client, a global leader in industrial automation and advanced technologies, is looking for two Systems Software Engineers to join their Montreal team.

In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and validation of low-level software for complex hardware systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the reliability and performance of modern architectures.

This is an 8-month contract with strong possibilities for renewal. The position requires an on-site presence 5 days a week at the Greater Montreal offices, maintaining a stable Monday to Friday schedule.



Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain low-level software for complex systems.

Develop and execute automated testing tools and scripts using Python to ensure system reliability.

Collaborate with hardware and software teams to define system requirements and overall product architecture.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues related to system integration.

Actively participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

Write rigorous technical documentation covering software designs and test plans.

Qualifications
7 or more years of professional software engineering experience including design and development.

Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of modern ARM architecture.

Strong experience developing automated tests and tools in a high-level language such as Python.

Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information verbally and in writing.

Mandatory bilingualism in French and English to interact seamlessly with various teams.
**Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties.
