Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced House Assistant for a semi formal residence located in Toronto. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the residence. This position is full-time, live-out. Work days are generally between Monday – Friday with a daytime work schedule of 40 hours per week. Some flexibility to work with the family’s schedule is required.
Candidate Profile:
You are an experienced and knowledgeable housekeeping professional with excellent laundry skills who enjoys keeping a clean and organized home. You are comfortable caring for children and can provide them complete, nutritious meals. You are comfortable working independently and travelling with the family as needed. You understand a home is a living environment, not just a workplace, and can easily adjust your daily schedule to accommodate activities in the residence.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Daily light housekeeping to include making beds, tidying, and kitchen cleaning
● Preparation of Chinese / Asian meals and Western cuisine for the family
● Maintain household inventory of cleaning supplies, and groceries
● Regular laundry with occasional ironing or steaming as needed
● Basic wardrobe management, including school uniforms, for family
● Ensure household security protocols are followed
● Answering the door, receive packages
● Sort and dispose of recycling, compost, and garbage correctly
Applicant Qualities:
● Good communication skills in English and professional personal presentation
● Detail oriented
● Must be comfortable lifting 30 pounds
● Excellent housekeeping, and laundry; correct use of products and methods for fine finishes and surfaces
● Must maintain privacy and confidentiality always, exercising diplomacy, discretion and respecting appropriate boundaries
● Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
● A valid driver’s license is an asset
