Your Job
DarkVision is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Imaging & AI team. You will ensure the accuracy and reliability of our reporting pipelines by owning pipeline validation, data transformation logic and rapid development of new reporting deliverables. You will be the bridge between our expert data analysts, machine learning models, and the actionable insights delivered to our clients.
DarkVision’s ultrasound imaging system collects large datasets in terabytes, capturing sub-millimetric defects across assets spanning hundreds of kilometers. Interpreting this data requires more than just black-box models; it requires rigorous statistical verification. You will focus on developing the analysis and reporting pipelines that enable the intuitive results our clients need.
This role is on-site at our North Vancouver, BC HQ, where employees enjoy a wide array of amenities including a fully equipped gym, squash court, steam room, climbing wall, and more!
Our Team
Working in the Imaging & AI team, you will join a multidisciplinary group of scientists and engineers. This team is responsible for early-stage ideation, research, experimentation, and development. You will collaborate closely with scientists and engineers within the team, as well as with product managers and data analysts, to bridge the gap between our clients’ dreams and the raw data they acquire.
What You Will Do
- Data Pipeline Development: Build and optimize pipelines that power reporting and visualization deliverables. You will proactively identify bottlenecks, data quality issues, or gaps in pipeline coverage to support the rapid development of new reporting deliverables.
- Pipeline Validation and Report Integrity: Design and implement rigorous testing and validation processes for rendering and reporting pipelines. You will build automated quality checks to ensure reports are accurate, consistent, and delivered reliably to stakeholders.
- Information Visualization: Create compelling 3D visualizations and automated reports that translate complex acoustic data into clear, client-facing insights for VPs and C-suite executives.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Experience writing production code in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Strong communication skills to present complex technical problems to senior non-technical audiences.
- Experience building and deploying data pipelines to cloud environments, preferably using AWS infrastructure.
- Experience analyzing high-dimensional, unstructured data (images, signals, or acoustic waveforms).
- Experience processing data for 3D visualization in various formats (point clouds, meshes, volumes).
