Metal Polisher – Day Shift ($25–$28/hr)
Location: Greater Toronto Area Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift Compensation: $25–$28/hr (based on experience) Position Type: Full?Time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Metal Polisher with strong knowledge of hardened tool steel polishing techniques and a commitment to producing high?quality finishes. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work, understands mold components, and can work efficiently in a fast?paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all levels of hardened tool steel polishing, including draw polishing with stones, diamond pastes, and polishing compounds.
Operate hand grinders, polishers, and blending tools to remove imperfections and achieve required finishes.
Work effectively around mold parting lines and complex geometries.
Review specifications to determine appropriate tools, abrasives, and materials for each job.
Inspect workpieces to ensure surfaces and dimensions meet customer and engineering requirements.
Collaborate with the Supervisor to determine priorities and scope of work for mold components.
Transfer parts and equipment safely using appropriate moving devices.
Maintain 5S standards and ensure a clean, organized work area.
Promote and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Demonstrate strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
2+ years of metal polishing experience, ideally with tool steel or mold components.
Strong understanding of polishing techniques, abrasives, and finishing processes.
Ability to read and interpret specifications and quality requirements.
Comfortable using grinders, polishers, and related finishing tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high?quality work.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Reliable, safety?focused, and team?oriented.
