The Cook of the Long‑Term Care residence is responsible for ensuring that proper meals are prepared and served on time and that work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.

Responsibilities

• Check special diet orders for new admissions to ensure they are correct (as required).
• Respond to resident or family member concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken within decision‑making authority and / or bring to the attention of the Food Services Manager / Supervisor.
• Direct Food Services Workers in the performance of their duties and assume responsibility for the operation of the Food Services Department (as required).
